I just read a fantasy book about an elvish person who gets caught in a series of events in Jerusalem, the character in between his adventures gets the chance to talk to Saladin, and it inspired me to draw my own version of Saladin.
The book I read was from the author Judith Tarr and I strongly recommend you to read up on her works, they are vary exiting.
